Obituaries for April 24, 2008 David A. Barnard, 63 Carlos Cleveland Barrow, Sr., 73, passed away April 19, 2008, under the care of Ogeechee Hospice. He was a deacon and member of Emmaus Church. Mr. Barrow was a member of 47th Bomb Wing Tactical Air Command, 47th Air Police Squadron RAF Station, Schulthorpe, England in 1956, and was retired from Daniel Measurement and Control in Statesboro, GA. He was preceded in death by his parents; William Cleveland and Retha Vashti Barrow. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Jane Oliver of Claxton; two sons and daughter-in-law, Derek Barrow and Carlos C. Jr. and Ida Sue Barrow, all of Claxton; one daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly B. and Daniel J. Pennington of Statesboro, GA; four grandchildren, Stephen and Hannah Barrow of Claxton and Shelby and Daniel Pennington of Statesboro; one brother and sister-in-law, Curtis and Loretta Barrow of Claxton and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 22, 2008, from J. Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Hubert Hendrix officiating. Burial followed in the Emmaus Church Cemetery. Margaret Wright Butler, 74 Margaret Wright Butler, 74, of Glennville, died Friday, April 18, 2008, after an extended illness. She was an active resident of Glenvue Nursing Home for several years, and a faithful member of the Center of Life Church of God. She was preceded in death by her sons, Len and Larry Coleman. She is survived by her children: Susie Butler of Jesup and Naomi and Judy Butler of Trenton, NJ; sisters, Novella (Ruben) King of Glennville and Susie Williams of Brunswick; brothers: Horace (Pat) Wright of St. Paul, NC; Laverne Wright of Callahan, FL; Glenn Wright of Lambertville, NJ; and Earnest Wright of Paterson, NJ; several grandchildren; a devoted friend and roommate, Gladys Hallman; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. E.F. Fountain, 64 Mr. E.F. Fountain, age 64, died at his residence after a short illness. He was a native of Montgomery County and had resided there most of his life. He served six and one half years in the Air force and retired with thirty years of service at Bell South. Mr. Fountain was a Mason and Shriner, with his 32nd Degree Scottish Rites. He served on the Montgomery County DFACS Board and was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. He enjoyed retirement and was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his father, Eschol Fountain, mother and father-in-law, John and Ethel McCaw. Survivors are: his wife, Elaine McCaw Fountain, of Vidalia, one daughter and her husband, Amy and Phillip Culpepper of Vidalia, his mother, Frances B. Fountain, two sisters, Martha Horne and husband, James of Vidalia, Joyce Collins and husband, Powell, of Lyons, one granddaughter, Amelia Elaine Culpepper of Vidalia. Funeral service for E.F. Fountain were held Wednesday, April 16, 2008, at the Chapel of Murchison Funeral Home in Vidalia with Dr. Keith Tipton officiating. Interment followed in the Mt. Eboni Galloway, 18 Eboni Galloway, 18, died Sunday, April 20, 2008, at Memorial Medical Center in Savannah, GA. She was born at Winn Army Community Hospital on Ft. Stewart, living in Tattnall County most of her life. She was a member of Mt. Zion Outreach Ministries Church. She was a Senior at Tattnall County High School. She is survived by her parents, Val and Sandy Jackson of Glennville; father, Gregory E. Galloway of Fitchburgh, MA; one brother, Christopher Michael Eulin of Augusta, GA; one half brother, Tyler Galloway of MA; two half sisters, Candyce Galloway and Jasmine Galloway, both of MA; three step-sisters, Erin Smalls of MA, Candyce Jackson and Chrystal Jackson, both of Atlanta; maternal grandmother, Rosenee Rolee of Vero Beach, FL; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Friday, April 25 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Mt. Zion Outreach Ministries Church. Funeral services will be Saturday, April 26 at 1 p.m. at the Tattnall County High School gymnasium. Ulysses Howard, 83 Ulysses Howard was born to the late Sally Mae Mason and Hardy Howard and the late Annie Howard June 8, 1924, in Bulloch County, Georgia. He departed this life on April 14, 2008, at Glenvue Nursing Home. He attended the public schools of Bulloch County. He retired from a long service of seasonal contract work. He joined the church at a young age. He was preceded in death by a brother, the late Robert Howard; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Danny Howard and John (Linda) Howard; and a son-in-law, Walter Smith of Apopka, FL. He leaves to cherish his memories, a loving wife, Karrie Kimble of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; 57 grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; one sister, Emma D. Lovett of Jacksonville, FL; two brothers, Willie (Gertie) Howard of Ft. Herdron “Pete” Mimbs, 67 Herdron “Pete” Mimbs, 67, passed away Monday, April 21, 2008, at his residence, under the care of Community Hospice. The Tattnall County native had lived in Bremen, GA, prior to returning to Reidsville twenty years ago. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving two tours in Vietnam. He was retired from Boilermakers Union Local #26, a Mason, and a member of St. Matthews Church of God. He loved fishing, his puppies and the outdoors. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and three sisters. He is survived by his wife, Linda Wise Mimbs of Reidsville; daughter, Vickie Lee Taylor of Reidsville; sons, Herdron “Pete” Mimbs (Sherry) of Lyons, Johnny Mimbs (June) of Reidsville, Tommy Mimbs (Kim) of Vidalia and Frank Cribbs of St. Augustine, FL; sisters, Jean Mullins of St. Augustine, FL and Penny Mae Rogers of Reidsville; 12 grandchildren; four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Barnard; brothers, Wendell and Gary Barnard; sister, Elaine Willis. He is survived by his mother, Maude Holland Barnard of Reidsville; sister and brother-in-law, Janice and Steve Medors of Pataskla, Ohio; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bobby and Pearl Barnard of Claxton, Wayne and Libby Barnard of Metter, Stanley and Cherry Barnard of Collins, Brad and Debra Barnard, Timmy and Patricia Barnard, Ricky and Annette Barnard and Kevin Barnard all of Reidsville; brother-in-law, Bo Bo Willis; sister-in-law, Connie Barnard of Cobbtown and several nieces and nephews. Charles K. Carter, 69 Charles K. Carter was the first of two children born to Annie Lee Byrd Carter Thomas and the late Allen Carter, Jr., on May 21, 1938, in Glenwood, GA. Charles grew up in Miami, Florida, with his brother, Moses. He was reared by his aunt and uncle, the late Alberta Carter Thomas and Rev. Oscar L. Thomas. He joined the Mt. Zion M.B. Church in Miami, FL, at a young age. He attended the Phyllis Wheatley Middle School and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1958 where he was a good student and popular. He spent his summers in Savannah and Collins, GA, where he was afforded the opportunity to bond with his extended family. While living in Miami, he discovered his passion for working with people who were in bereavement and thus started working at Frances Funeral Home as a mortician and funeral director. After doing this for some years he decided to get into Law Enforcement and made a big move to New York City to work on the New York Police Department. He advanced his career at the Police Department and within five years he became a Supervisor. After spending some years in New York, he decided to move back to Georgia where he could be closer to his family. Upon his return, he made his church home at Bethlehem M. B. Church in Savannah. He has worked in many capacities in Law Enforcement, such as a Correctional Officer at Coastal SP, Police Officer at Reidsville and Jesup Police Departments as well as security officer with Brinks Security. After doing this, he still could not shake his first love which was working with the funeral home business. Charles worked faithfully for Sidney A. Jones where he was a manager and director of funerals until 2005. He also worked with Miller Funeral Home in Hinesville, GA, and Sexton-Hall. Before his unexpected death, he was looking forward to working in the funeral home business once again. Lead by the Holy Spirit, Charles re-dedicated his life to God while residing in Reidsville, GA, at the Springfield Missionary Baptist Church. Charles heard God’s voice on April 11, 2008, when he entered into eternal rest. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Moses, Eric, Harold and Aaron. He leaves to cherish his memory: one son, Mark Carter Flynn of New York, NY; his mother, Annie Lee Thomas of Savannah, GA; one brother, James Thomas of Savannah, GA; one sister, Annie Pearl Payton of Atlanta, GA; three sisters-in-law, Ella Mae Carter of Reidsville, GA, Naomi and Alfreda Thomas of Savannah, GA; two grandchildren, and one great grandchild; nephews, Moses, Jr., Chris, Stevie, Kevin, Shawn, Keith, James, Jr.; nieces; Angela, Talisha, Charnet, Janene, Claudette, Keisha, Tina, Stephanie, Natalie and Angela Precious Joy; two very special cousins, Mattie McCrae, Reidsville, GA, and Mary Sanders, Warner Robins, GA; and a host of cousins, friends and church family. The homegoing celebration will be held on Friday, April 18, 2008, at Springfield Missionary Baptist Church in Reidsville, GA, at 11:00am. Burial will be at Sandhill Cemetery.
Hays Watson Frost, 67 Hays Watson Frost, 67, passed away Friday, April 11, 2008, in Jacksonville. He was a native of Georgia but had lived in Jacksonville, FL for the past 50 years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. He served during the Vietnam era and was known as the “Cookie Man.” He is remembered as a loving husband, devoted father, brother, uncle and caring friend to all who knew him. Hays was born in Statesboro, GA, to Lila Frost and the late Tom Frost. He was preceded in death by his wife of 39 wonderful years, Sandra Frost. He is survived by his son, Steven Frost of Jacksonville, FL; mother, Lila Frost of Reidsville, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Nathan and Marie Frost of Panama City, FL, Delmas Frost of Immocalle, FL, William and Ann Frost of Glennville, GA and Tommy and Beth Frost of Townsend, GA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lottie Camp of Crescent, GA, Faye and Walter Hussey of Reidsville, GA, and Beverly and Sonny Medlock of Glennville, GA and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a native of Emanuel County and was retired after 20 years of service with the U.S. Army, having served in both Korea and Viet Nam. He was also retired from the State of Georgia as a Food Service Director at the Georgia State Prison in Reidsville, GA. Mr. Bell was preceded in death by his parents, Joe A. and Ella Ree Bridges Bell of Swainsboro, GA. He is survived by his wife, Brigitte Laudan Bell of Metter, GA; one daughter, Regina Phillips of Claxton, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Gilbert and Joyce Bell of Duluth, GA; one brother, James Bell of Swainsboro, GA; three grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; a special companion his dog Beau and numerous nieces and nephews. Carlos W. Blocker, 94 Carlos W. Blocker, 94, died Tuesday, April 1, 2008, at Evans Memorial Hospital after a sudden illness. The Tattnall County native had lived in this area all of his life. He was the last of 12 siblings born to Henry Jasper Blocker and Eliza Jane Bacon Blocker. He, along with his wife, Kate, owned and operated C.W. Blocker Grocery on U.S. Highway 301 for 45 years. He loved people, especially children, was generous, good-natured, had a good sense of humor, loved gardening, and playing his harmonica. He also enjoyed baking pies, which he shared with his friends. He was a loving Christian father and grandfather and faithful member of Harmony United Methodist Church, where members of his family have attended for over one hundred years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Emily Kate McMillan Blocker and a son, C.W. Blocker Jr. He is survived by a daughter and sons-in-law, Lela Jane and Warren Sarrell of Anniston, AL, and Carolyn and Jimmy Mobley of Powder Springs, GA; sister-in-law, Aligene Lambdin of Glennville; grandchildren, Melissa Rehberg, Maranda Mobley, Phillip Mobley, Wendy Blocker, April Jane Sarrell, Warren G. Donald Harrison Burkhalter, 59 Donald Harrison Burkhalter, 59, of Townsend, died Thursday, April 3, 2008. Don was a native of Tattnall County who earned his undergraduate and master’s degree in Education from Georgia Southern University. He taught at several school systems in the region and retired after 25 years of service. After retirement Don’s love of the coast brought him to Shellman Bluff where he co-owned Coastal Breeze Realty. He is survived by his daughter, Ashley Faith Burkhalter of Jesup; a sister, Barbara Tillman (Stanford) of Hazlehurst; two brothers, Alva Burkhalter (Myra) of Bainbridge and Gregg Burkhalter (Gail) of Lawrenceville; and two nieces, Kayla Tillman and Kimberly Bahrami. He was preceded in death by his parents, P.H. and Carrie Burkhalter. A memorial service was held Sunday, April 6, 2008, at Shellman Bluff Baptist Church with Reverend John Briley officiating. Elisha Scott DeLoach, 25 Elisha Scott DeLoach, 25, died Wednesday, April 2, 2008, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. The Duval County, Florida native had lived in this area all of his life. He was of Baptist faith. The Tattnall County native had lived in Glennville all of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of Stoney Hill Free Will Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Barney Lee Durrence; son Dave Durrence and great-granddaughter, Ashley Stroud. She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Delbert and Leo Durrence of Augusta, Delmas (Shot) and Leigh Ann Durrence of Glennville and Betty Sue Durrence of Augusta; daughters and sons-in-law, Omie Jean (Sug) and Cecil Anderson of Glennville, Mary and William Anderson of Glennville and Mollie and Charles Foster of Perry; sisters, Louise Craft, Hazel Stubbs and Betty Grice of Claxton and Madeline Blocker of Glennville; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. The Tattnall County native had lived in Florida for many years before moving back to this area in 2001. She was a homemaker and a member of Love’s Chapel Primitive Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Marion Todd and Edith Meeker Todd; sister, Vernice Purvis; brother, Otis Todd and husband, Henry B. Durrence. She is survived by her daughter, Johnnie M. Blevins of Okeechobee, FL; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Lucy Collins Martin, 74 Lucy Collins Martin, 74, died Friday evening, April 4, 2008, at her home. The Tattnall County native and lifelong resident retired as a postal clerk, having worked in the Cobbtown, Vidalia and Metter U.S. Post Offices. She was a member, clerk and treasurer of the Sunlight Primitive Baptist Church. Lucy was a wonderful mother and homemaker. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Kermit Martin of Cobbtown; son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Karen Martin of Hoboken; daughter, Kay Martin Sikes of Collins; seven grandchildren, Jamie Sikes Edenfield (Tietgen), Clay J. Sikes, Jeannie M. Thompson, Carrie M. Rowell (Jesse), Adrian Martin, Joshua Martin and Tayler Martin; and six great grandchildren. Ellis Bernard Moye, 66 Ellis Bernard Moye passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2008, at his residence after an extended illness. He was surrounded by his loving family. Born on June 2, 1941, in Tattnall County to the late Bernard E. and Eva Moye, he grew up on a farm in Toombs County. A 1959 graduate of Lyons High School, he married his high school sweetheart, Betty Joyce Hutcheson in 1960, and moved in Tattnall County in 1961. He retired from Canoochee EMC as Manager of Engineering and Construction in 2003 after 42 years of service. Ellis was a devout Christian and loving husband and father who served as an example of selfless service to others. He was a member of the Faith Assembly of God Church in Lyons. Ellis is survived by his wife, Joyce; his children, Jan Grimsley (BG Will) of Fort Hood, TX, Karen Hodges (Houston) of Claxton and Chris Moye (Julie) of Reidsville and Jennifer Grooms (Jason) of Brooklet; two brothers, George and James Moye of Lyons; four sisters, Dorothy Cowart of Reidsville, Charlsie Barfield, Barbara Collins, and Jewell Hodges of Lyons; eight grandchildren, Ben and Luke Grimsley of Dallas, Texas, Ariel, Jared and Eden Hodges of Claxton, and Kristin, Garret and Matthew Moye of Reidsville; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Ruth Flowers Pierce, 68 Ruth Flowers Pierce, 68, passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2008, at her residence under the care of Pearls of Life Hospice. The Tattnall County had lived in Glennville all of her life and was retired from Civil Service at Ft. Stewart. She was a member of Stoney Hill Free Will Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Pierce; parents, Rudolph and Bertie Flowers and brother, Randall Flowers. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Crystal and Anthony Trent of Glennville; sister and brother-in-law, Bobbie and Arlie Tucker of Dexter; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jackie and Sheila Flowers and Kent and Joyce Flowers, all of Glennville; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Friday, April 4, 2008, from the chapel of Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home, with Reverend Harris Nix officiating. Burial followed in the DeLoach Family Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ben Boutwell, Derek Stanfield, Ronald Todd, Carlton Todd, Tommy Gene Reddish and Bennie DeLoach. Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home, Glennville Chapel, was in charge of the arrangements.
Katie Ruth Tootle, 85 Katie Ruth Tootle, 85, died Wednesday, April 2, 2008, at her residence under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice, surrounded by her family and friends. The Tattnall County native had live most of her life in Glennville except for about 20 years spent in Florida. She was a retired beautician and homemaker. She was an active member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her son, Jerome (Jerry) Moody and her parents, Willie and Bessie Tootle. She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Judi and Clark Pearson of Orlando, FL and Debra and Michael Dasher of Glennville; brothers, Clyde Tootle of Glennville and L.C. Tootle of Lyons; sister Dora Jane Kemp of Groveland, FL; grandchildren, Brett Thomas and Lindsey Walker; great-grandchildren, Waylon Thomas, Ethan and Addison Walker; many nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 5, 2008, at Oak Grove Baptist Church with Dr. Charles (Bucky) Strickland officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Randy Wilson, Toby Wilson, Kline Tootle, Cary Tootle, Alex Tootle and Kenny Tootle. Dolores Vallin, 70 Dolores Vallin, 70, died Wednesday, April 2, 2008, at her residence under the care of Southern Care Hospice. She was a Texas native, moving to Tattnall County 21 years ago, living the past two years in Metter. She was a homemaker. She is survived by her five daughters, Mary Lou Lincoln of Lubbock, TX, Irene Vallin of Metter, Angelia Villanueva of Collins, Dora Trevino of Collins, Nancy Martinez of Brooklet; five sons, Joe Vallin Jr. of Brooklet, Danny Vallin of Petersburg, TX, Saul Vallin of Lubbock, TX, George Vallin of Brooklet and Ruben Vallin of Vidalia; five sisters and four brothers, all of Texas, 30 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Saturday, April 6, 2008, at Carter Funeral Chapel with Pastor Randy Watts officiating. Burial followed at The Glennville Memorial Gardens. Twila Lanier Waters, 80 Twila Lanier Waters, 80, passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2008, at Hospice Savannah after an extended illness. The Tattnall County native has lived in Glennville all of her life. She was retired as a manager of Flash Foods Convenience Store in Glennville and a homemaker. She was a member of Harmony United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Grady C. “Judie” Waters. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Jeff Clayton of Riverside, CA; sister, Sally Parker of Reidsville; grandchildren, Bradley and Brooke Clayton of Riverside, CA and several nieces and nephews; Funeral services were held Monday, April 7, 2008, at Harmony United Methodist Church with Reverend Truett Leveritt officiating. Burial followed in the Church cemetery. Pallbearers were Mitchell Speer, Lee Tootle, Mike Walker, Stoy Martin, Princeton Pirkle and Steve Long. Judy Sims White, 64 Judy Sims White, 64, passed away early Thursday morning, April 3, at the Tattnall Community Hospital. The Vero Beach, FL, native had lived in Sebastian, FL, most of her life before moving to Collins three years ago. She was a homemaker and attended Full Gospel Tabernacle in Collins. While in Florida she was a member of the Crossroads Christian Fellowship. Mrs. White was preceded in death by a daughter, Schwane Renee’ White. She is survived by: her husband of 45 years, Gene White of Collins; daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Lance Fogle of Sebastian, FL; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Wayne and Nancy Sims of Sebastian, FL, and Dennis and Carolyn Sims of Franklin, NC; three grandchildren, Josh and Sierra Felthousen and Chance Fogle; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services were conducted Saturday, April 5 from the Chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home. Interment followed Monday at the Sebastian Cemetery. Bradley B. James K. Conley, 88 Mr. James K. Conley, 88, died Thursday morning, March 27, 2008, at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah after a brief illness. He was a native of and lived most of his life in Toombs County where he retired as a truck driver. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lena Spikes Conley; a child, Mabel Nadine Conley; his second wife, Gladys Wildes Conley; his parents, Grover Cleveland Conley and Mabel Davis Conley; a son, James Kenneth Conley; and a sister, Willie Lane. The survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Norma Jean and Irvin Davis of Waycross, and Nancy Karen and Wayne Moran, of Sanford, FL; three step-children, Kenneth Wildes of Toombs County, Tony Wildes of Toombs County and Patsy Wallace of Glynn County; 11 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; one sister, Ina Mae Amos of Toombs County; one brother, Cecil Conley of Burke County; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 4:30 p.m. Saturday, April 5, 2008, at Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home, 126 Jordan St., Reidsville, GA 30453. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorialization will be by cremation. Music Funeral Home, Waycross, GA is in charge of local arrangements.
Portia Ann Halford, 64 Mrs. Portia Ann Halford, 64, passed away Sunday night, March 30, 2008, at the Tattnall Healthcare Center in Reidsville. The Chatham County native had lived in Reidsville most of her life. She was a homemaker and attended Abundant Faith PH Church. She is survived by: son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Sandra Halford of Collins; two daughters and sons-in-law, Connie and Jim Ward, and Melissa and David Sharpe all of Kingsport, TN; nine grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Memorial services will be conducted 6:00 pm Thursday, April 3 at the Believers Church of Reidsville conducted by Pastor Sherry Hill. Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home is serving the Halford family.
Duvaughn Nunnally, 64 Mr. Duvaughn Nunnally, 64, passed away Sunday, March 30, 2008, at the Tattnall Community Hospital in Reidsville, GA. He was a native of Tattnall County and a self-employed truck driver for Coastal Wood Products. He was a member of St. James AME Church in Glennville. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Rosetta Nunnally; two daughters, Linda Jean (Ricky) Arthur and Angela (Ron) Burgess; one sister, Odessa (Freddie) Marshall; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Four brothers and one sister preceded him in death. Visitation will be at King and Sons Funeral Home on Friday, April 4, 2008, from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 5, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at St. James AME Church. Peggy Garrason O’Neal, 57 Peggy Garrason O’Neal, 57, passed away Monday, March 31, 2008, at Hospice Savannah after an extended illness. The Wayne County native had lived in Glennville all of her life and was retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation and Smith State Prison. She was a member of Glennville First Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, Theron E. Garrason and Montez Kicklighter Garrason; a brother, Raymond E. Garrason. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Michelle O’Neal and Jack Bass, Jr. of Americus; two granddaughters, Lydia and Sara Bass of Americus; several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 4, 2008, from the chapel of Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home with Rev. Hampton Kicklighter officiating. Burial will follow in the Love’s Chapel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Employees and Retirees of Georgia Department of Transportation.
